This "Old Moon" Mask was hand-carved in 2003 by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Dwayne Simeon. It has been carved from red cedar, painted in black, red, blue and beige acrylic, with 2 onlays of copper in the eyes.

The Moon Symbol is the protector and guardian of the earth. Its spirit watches over us and can change our moods.

The mask measures approximately 21 inches or 53 1/2 centimeters in diameter and 6 1/2 inches or 16 1/2 centimeters deep.

The mask was purchased from a collection and has some wear, which is reflected in the price.
